1-1. When You Cannot Reach the Password Entry Screen
The email address may be incorrect. Please check the following points:
- The email address (OUMail account) is "(Osaka University personal ID)@ecs.osaka-u.ac.jp". Make sure to include everything after the "@" symbol.
- If a message such as "This username may be incorrect" is displayed, the part before the "@" symbol is incorrect, or the email address has been changed to the alumni address (as described below).
- If a message such as "This system does not have ***" is displayed, the part after the "@" symbol is incorrect.
- For alumni, the email address has been changed to the alumni address (e.g., ~@alumni.osaka-u.ac.jp). Please refer to this page for details.
- If a message such as "This Microsoft account does not exist" is displayed, try accessing https://mail.office365.com using a different web browser than the one you usually use, or clear the cache and cookies in your usual web browser.
- OUMail is a service for students. Except for some cases, faculty and staff are not eligible for the service, so OUMail email addresses do not exist for them. Please refer to this page for details.
1-2. When the Password is Incorrect
- When you change your password, it may take up to an hour for the new password to be reflected in OUMail.
- Try signing in using a different web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.). If you can sign in with a different browser, clear the cache and cookies in your usual web browser to be able to sign in.
Instructions for Clearing Cache and Cookies
1-3. When Multi-Factor Authentication Fails (e.g., after Changing Phone Number or Device)
- If you cannot sign in because the authentication request is sent to your previous phone number or smartphone due to study abroad, return to Japan, device change, etc., please request a reset of the multi-factor authentication.
- If there is no change in your phone number or smartphone but you suddenly cannot perform multi-factor authentication, please refer to this page.
Note: The multi-factor authentication for OUMail is different from the multi-factor authentication (MFA) for KOAN, My Handai, CLE, etc., and each needs to be set up separately. If you are using the Microsoft Authenticator app for authentication, accounts for OUMail and KOAN will be displayed separately as shown in the image below. Make sure to use the appropriate account according to the system you want to log in to.
